|Welcome from the organizer|
Dear members and friends:
We are very pleased to invite you to attend the 53rd meeting of the Board and Working Groups, and Regional Conference & Exhibition to be held from 18 to 25 April 2015 in Casablanca, Morocco. We would like to especially thank our partner, the “Office National des Aéroports du Maroc” (ONDA), which has kindly offered its support for this important event.
This event provides a unique opportunity and a perfect setting for airport and other aviation executives, experts and exhibitors from across the globe to network, share information and forge a common vision for the future business of African airports.
The conference aims the importance of collaboration among aviation partners to address major challenges in development of the air transport sector in Africa and will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices between airport members and industry stake-holders.
The theme of this conference is "Collaboration for Safe, Secure and Sustainable Aviation in Africa". It will mainly deal with collaboration for successful, profitable and sustainable aviation in Africa, the improvement of air travel, the liberal-ization of air transport in Africa and collabora-tion to respond to global crises (the case of Ebola virus, for example).
Within the conference a half-day workshop will be dedicated to aviation safety and how collaboration can enhance safety through programmes such as: Runaway safety teams, APEX in Safety, ISAGO, etc. A second half-day workshop will be dedicated to aviation security and how working together can improve security (Smart Security, APEX in Security) despite the new threats affecting the industry.
The conference will be preceded by ACI Africa Board of Directors and Working Groups meetings from 18 to 19 April 2015 and will be followed by an ACI Developing Nations Airport (ACI/DNA) Seminar from 23 to 25 April 2015.
During this event a large-scale exhibition and exclusive social events will also take place as a platform for networking with business partners and meeting old and new friends alike. This will guarantee an exceptionally large turnout consisting of senior airport executives and ACI officials.
ONDA has chosen a prestigious venue for the event, “Golden Tulip Farah Hotel and Conference Centre,” which is situated in Casablanca. The conference center satisfies all the require-ments of a large-scale event that will play host to a diverse international audience.
Together with our partner, “Office National des Aéroports”, as well as our sponsors, we look forward to welcoming you to Casablanca, one of the major centres of business in Africa, for a productive and enjoyable conference.
Pascal KOMLA, President, ACI Africa and Ali TOUNSI, Secretary General, ACI Africa
|Welcome from the host
First and foremost allow me to wish you all the best for a happy 2015 new year.
ONDA, Moroccan Airports Authority, is proud to host the 53rd ACI Africa Board meeting, Regional Conference & Exhibition and looks forward to welcome you soon in Casablanca, our main country’s economic capital city.
Casablanca, where ACI Africa regional headquarters are located, has always been at the cross between the development of the aviation’s sector and our continent. The fast rising aviation industry, developed through an important cluster around the airport, is considered as a solid platform to address the African continent, with more than 100 based companies in the aeronautical sector, among which is an increasing number of global companies. Casablanca Mohammed 5th airport’s Hub is playing an important international role as the first gate in the kingdom linking the African network to the rest of the world for nearly 8 million passengers during 2014.
The conference theme: "Collaboration for Safe, Secure and Sustainable Aviation in Africa", will certainly offer us an excellent opportunity to share our experiences and best practices in sustainable development as well as in airport safety and security.
This great event will also consolidate our will to work towards a south-south development and strengthen positive cooperation between the African airports and the international authorities in civil aviation.
It’s with a great pleasure that I invite you to the 53rd ACI Africa Board meeting, Regional Conference & Exhibition to discover the exhibition space dedicated to the aviation professionals, a rich social program and many other attractive opportunities for new business partnerships development.
Welcome to Casablanca,
Zouhair Mohammed EL AOUFIR, General Manager, Office National Des Aéroports
