The Casablanca International Airport, Morocco’s biggest airport, received in January and February 520,613 passengers, down 67.25 percent from a year ago, ONDA said.

This downward trend has continued since the COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020 as all airports in the North African country are affected.

Since March 1, Morocco has suspended air connections with 32 countries to curb the spread of COVID-19 and its variants. The suspension will run until April 4, ONDA said.

In 2020, Morocco’s airports recorded 7,150,277 passengers, down 71 percent from 2019.
