The African Airports Development Programme (AADP) is ACI Africa’s flagship technical and capacity-building programme, designed to provide practical, end-to-end support to African airports across the full spectrum of airport development and performance. The programme assists airports in strengthening institutional capability, improving operational and commercial outcomes, and aligning with international standards and best practices.

AADP supports airports across multiple disciplines, including aerodrome certification and compliance, safety and security, environmental management and ESG, quality of service and customer experience, airport economics and commercial performance, human resources and organisational development, governance, and overall airport management. This integrated support is delivered through a combination of advisory assistance, on-site and remote technical missions, tailored diagnostics, and structured capacity-building activities. Training, delivered through customised classroom and online courses and supported by targeted scholarships, forms a core enabling pillar, ensuring sustainable skills transfer and long-term capability development.
